Hi,

1. When you say "At first, after I installed the drivers", which drivers did you try to install?

2. When you say "resetting the USB Universal Serial Bus Controller", did you try to Universal Serial Bus Controllers?

3. Do you remember making any software or hardware changes on the computer prior to the issue?

This issue may occur due to any recent changes on the computer.

Since other USB devices work, let's try the following steps and check.

Method 1:

Step 1:

You may try to uninstall and reinstall the Graphire device driver and check.

a. Click Start and type in Device Manager in the Start Search and Press Enter.

b. Expand the Graphire device in the Device Manager

c. Right click on the device and click on Properties.

d. Click on driver tab and click on Uninstall Drivers and click OK.

e. Restart the computer and check.

You may reboot and install the Graphire 3 driver from your regional Wacom.

Step 2:

You may try also refer to Acer Support link and try installing the latest version of chipset drivers and check.

Method 2:

You may try running the Hardware troubleshooter and check for the issue.

Method 3:

If the issue persists, you may perform a clean boot and check.

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application services or startup item is causing this issue.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: After you have finished the troubleshooting, refer to the section "How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting" to boot the system in normal start up.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance with Win dows related issues. We will be happy to help.

When I said, "At first after I installed the drivers" the driver that installed was from the Wacom website, "PenTablet_5.2.5a"

What do you mean by "When you say 'resetting the USB Universal Serial Bus Controller', did you try to Universal Serial Bus Controllers?" ?

No, I do not remember making any software or hardware changes to my computer. Is there a way to check for any changes?

I was trying to follow the steps of the first method you showed me, but I couldn't find the "Graphire Device" in the Device Manager. It just said, "Unkown Device." So I couldn't uninstall the drivers.

So that almost rules out the Second Method as well.

I tried Method Three, and it still says "USB Device not Recognized."

Hi,

Thank you for the updates.

1. Did you try to uninstall all the USB controllers including the Unknown devices?

2. Did you try to install the latest version of chipset drivers from Acer Support link?

You may also refer to the article and check:

Error: "USB Device not recognized" when you try to access a USB external hard drive.

Important: The above mentioned link contain steps to install motherboard chipset drivers. Modifying BIOS (Basic input output system)/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance with Win dows related issues. We will be happy to help.
